To Date: On Friday 28 October 2011 we hosted, as our guest speaker, Mr. Gordon M. Ettenson, a member of the Senior Executive Service, and the Deputy Director of Operations, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Plans and Requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. Mr. Ettenson gave a very informative talk to the chapter membership and answered questions following his talk.
On Thursday 17 November 2011 the U.S. Army Special Forces Command (Airborne) conducted a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery to honor President John F. Kennedy's vision and support of Special Forces Green Berets. The SFA was invited to participate and our Chapter Secretary John Mohler officially represented the chapter at this ceremony.
On Sunday 4 December 2011 I again hosted the Chapter Christmas Party at my home in Stafford, VA. I am happy to say we had about 40 individuals attend the party which included members not recently seen at other chapter events.
Upcoming: On Thursday 26 January 2012 we will be hosting a joint mixer in Crystal City, VA with the Washington Chapter of the Navy UDT-SEAL and the Trident Club. The joint mixer starts at 1800 hours and will be held at the Hamburger Hamlet Restaurant located on Crystal Drive. Additional details can be found at our chapter website, center page, under What We Do. This promises to be an informal business evening of networking and camaraderie.
Closing: I ask that you make every effort to attend and support the chapter events. The chapter events are an excellent opportunity for you to reconnect with existing friends, network with new acquaintances, and for us to build camaraderie. It is my intention to update this message monthly in order to provide you with the most recent information possible on chapter activities and upcoming events. I also encourage you to visit our web page on a regular basis. It is an excellent source for current information.
